A £50m national fund, announced by the National Grid in October, will help Stoke-on-Trent hospital leavers heat their homes this winter. Part of the sum has been awarded to Revival.

Helping local people home from hospital in time for Christmas
This winter our trusted team is on a mission to help local people at Royal Stoke University Hospital return home safely in time for Christmas. Our dedicated Home Support Team, who are based at the hospital, help the ward staff discharge patients home by connecting them to essentials like food, water, heating, electricity and medication. They also make sure their homes are safe to be discharged to.

Jennifer came to the service because she felt isolated at home and had been battling with her mental health. Alongside that, her mobility had reduced and being alone at home for long periods of time was having an impact on her overall wellbeing.

New CEO at Honeycomb Group
Julie Guildford Smith has been appointed as Chief Executive at Stoke-based Honeycomb Group. Currently Strategic Director of Housing at Birmingham City Council, Julie will step into the new role next month (Monday 5 December 2022); taking over the helm from Diane Thompson who has served the business for over 30 years.

55-year-old Sharon came to Revival after her health declined. A long stay in hospital during treatment meant Sharon’s mobility had drastically reduced. Revival was contacted and Community Home Support Worker Beccy helped Sharon return safely home from hospital.
