Revival’s Wellbeing Service supports people to live independently by helping them feel safe, listened to and connected within their own homes and communities. For many people, having someone to turn to and feeling less alone can make a real difference to everyday life.
Ramona came to Revival needing support to continue living independently after moving to the area from elsewhere. Having relocated away from her friends and family, she found herself feeling isolated and unsure where to turn for help and support. Without a local network around her, everyday challenges began to feel overwhelming.
The Wellbeing team took time to listen to Ramona and understand what mattered to her. To support her health and wellbeing, she was encouraged to contact her GP and was referred for a medication review, helping to ensure she was receiving the right support for her needs. She was also signposted to local support groups to help her feel more connected and involved in her community.
Recognising the importance of regular social contact, the team also referred Ramona to Revival’s Befriending Service. This gave her the opportunity to build a trusting relationship, have meaningful conversations and feel less alone in her day-to-day life.
Through consistent visits, reassurance and compassionate listening, the Wellbeing team helped Ramona regain confidence and feel supported in her new surroundings. Over time, she began to feel more settled and less isolated.
At the end of the support period, Ramona shared her thanks with the team, saying, “Thank you for coming all of these weeks and listening to me. It really does mean a lot, and it’s made a great difference to my life.”
This story reflects how Revival’s Wellbeing Service supports people not only to remain independent at home, but also to feel connected, valued and supported when they need it most.
