Revival’s Low Level Support Service in Derbyshire is designed to help people across the county live independently in their own homes for as long as possible.
Working in partnership with Derbyshire Citizens Advice, Derbyshire County Council and VCS Derbyshire, the team provides tailored support to people who may be struggling with housing, finances or day-to-day challenges that impact their wellbeing.
One person who recently benefited from the service is Jeff, who reached out for support at a time when he and his wife were vulnerable and worried about their future.
They had lived in their home for more than 33 years, but following a family bereavement, they were unsure whether they would be able to keep their tenancy. On top of this, they were struggling financially and were not receiving the benefits they were entitled to.
Revival worked closely with Jeff to review their financial situation, explore all available support and ensure the couple could remain secure in their home.
The team successfully helped Jeff and his wife access over £18,000 worth of financial support, including the benefits they were entitled to but had not yet been awarded. Life-changing support that gave them stability and peace of mind.
Alongside this, the team helped secure Housing Benefit, Council Tax support, and assisted with a succession policy, which allowed Jeff and his wife to take over the tenancy of the home they had cherished for more than three decades. This meant they could finally feel settled, safe, and confident about their future.
Jeff expressed his deep gratitude for the support he received, sharing how much of a difference the service made at a time when they felt most vulnerable.
“You helped us when we were most vulnerable. The impact of the service has been immense. We’re so grateful for everything you’ve done, we didn’t have to suffer, and our living situation has improved massively.”
