Come along and find out how you can make a positive change to your life and someone else’s by volunteering with us.

Revival’s volunteering team are set to host a roadshow for people to find out more about services and volunteer opportunities.

The team will be visiting around 20 housing schemes across Newcastle-under-Lyme and Stoke-on-Trent on Wednesday 9 October and Wednesday 16 October.

It’ll be a chance for residents to find out more about Revival’s services and how they can make a positive change to their lives and someone else’s by volunteering.

Helen Simpson, volunteer officer at Revival, said: “If someone is lonely or isolated, their life can be transformed by a simple cuppa and a chat. You could help in other ways too, such as connecting them to local groups or showing them how to get digitally connected.

“Volunteering can also help you make friends, learn new skills, advance your career, and even help you to feel happier and healthier.

“You can really make and feel a difference just by giving up a few hours of your week.”

Revival currently runs two befriending-style services. One that helps over 75’s in Newcastle-under-Lyme find and connect to suitable social and activity groups near them and another which helps people of all ages get settled back at home after leaving hospital.

Linda is a volunteer with Revival: “I feel like I’ve impacted people’s lives.

“They’re always so excited to see and speak to me, even If it’s just for a chat! I enjoy just talking to people, listening to what they have got to say and having a laugh with them. It’s great to see them smile!”

On Wednesday 9 October, the volunteer team will be visiting 10 Staffs Housing schemes:

  • 09:30-10:00 Rhodes Court
  • 10:15-10:45 Garden Court
