Staying Independent at Home with Revival's Wellbeing Service

When Jill was referred to Revival's Wellbeing Service in March 2026, everyday life was becoming increasingly difficult.

Living alone, Jill was managing a number of health challenges, including Parkinson's disease, a heart condition and worsening mobility. Tasks that many of us take for granted, such as preparing meals and moving safely around the home, were becoming harder, and Jill was beginning to think about moving into more suitable accommodation.

Despite these challenges, Jill wanted to remain independent in her own home for as long as possible. That's where Revival stepped in.

Providing practical support and reassurance
Between March and June 2026, Revival's Wellbeing Team visited Jill regularly, providing support with meal preparation, welfare checks and day-to-day practical help around the home.

The visits ensured Jill had access to nutritious meals, help with household tasks and, just as importantly, someone to check on her wellbeing and provide a friendly conversation.

Throughout this period, Jill experienced several setbacks, including a fall at home that left her unable to get up for more than two hours, ongoing back pain and increasing mobility issues. During these difficult times, regular wellbeing visits provided reassurance and helped Jill continue living safely at home.

Helping Jill plan for the future
As Jill's needs changed, Revival continued to support her while she explored options for more suitable housing.

The team helped provide stability during a period of uncertainty, giving Jill the confidence to remain independent while plans were made for her future move to sheltered accommodation.

With support from Revival and her family, Jill successfully secured a place at retirement complex and was able to make arrangements for her next chapter with the right support in place.

Reflecting on the support she received, Jill spoke warmly about the impact the service had on her life.

"I liked all the Revival staff."

She regularly thanked colleagues for their support and looked forward to their visits, which helped reduce feelings of isolation and provided valuable reassurance during a challenging time.

Supporting independence at home
Jill's story shows how Revival's Wellbeing Service helps people stay independent, safe and connected in their own homes for longer.

Whether it's practical support, regular wellbeing checks or simply knowing that someone is there when needed, the service helps people maintain their independence and confidence while continuing to live life on their own terms.
