Our repairs team reveals how we get our trusted status

According to the Ministry of Housing and Communities, 1.9m households in England have one or more person living with a health condition that requires a home adaptation.

Over half of people aged 65+ believe they've been targeted by fraudsters.

It's just one of the reasons why we understand why the thought of having repair or adaptation work done can make older people feel uneasy.

“At Revival we believe your home is your castle,” says Repairs Team Leader Paul.

“When your home no longer meets your needs, or you need help with repairs, we understand that you want to know you’re in safe hands.

“That’s why all our tradesmen are DBS checked and given specialist training to make you feel comfortable in your own home.”

We also recommend staff complete a trusted assessor qualification. Giving them the skills needed to complete assessments on behalf of adult social care for low-level major adaptations. These include grab rails, bed raisers, bath seats, and perching stools.

The qualification teaches how to put support plans together. Along with how to apply for adaptations through the disabled facilities grant to reduce waiting times.

Paul joined the Revival team last year and has been completing the qualification. “I’ve been completing the training since December and I’m really enjoying it,” said Paul.

“In my day-to-day job, my team and I complete home repairs and adaptations, so it will be great to be able to complete assessments if needed too.

“It helps to make sure our customers have all the support they need to live independently at home.

“I’m excited to be fully-qualified and to be able to help more people.”
